Peanut Butter Cheeseball Recipe - Quick Healthy Snack

 It's Cheat Day!
Peanut Butter Lovers!! Here is a super easy recipe for a healthier dessert/snack option.  Why is this considered a healthier option? Because there's peanut butter of course! Not gonna lie, this recipe tastes a lot like peanut butter cheesecake... yum!

Benefits of Peanut Butter

It helps you lose weight!
Calling peanut butter a diet food, with 180 to 210 calories per serving, may seem counter-intuitive. But it has the enviable combination of fiber (2 g per serving) and protein (8 g per serving) that fills you up and keeps you feeling full longer, so you eat less overall.

It's packed with Nutrition
A serving of peanut butter has 3 mg of the powerful antioxidant vitamin E, 49 mg of bone-building magnesium, 208 mg of muscle-friendly potassium, and 0.17 mg of immunity-boosting vitamin B6.
One study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that consuming 1 ounce of nuts or peanut butter (about 2 tablespoons) at least 5 days a week can lower the risk of developing diabetes by almost 30%.

It's got the GOOD Fat
Peanut butter is chock-full of heart-healthy monounsaturated fat.

 Here's what you'll need:

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, at room temperature
1 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter (all-natural PB is ok if it's creamy and doesn't require refrigeration)
3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
3/4 cup milk chocolate chips (or dark chocolate for extra health benefits)
3/4 cup peanut butter chips
Graham cracker sticks, teddy grahams, and/or apple slices for dipping

Instructions:
  • Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, peanut butter and brown sugar in large bowl until blended. Pour the mixture onto a large sheet of plastic wrap, take up the four corners and twist tightly forming into a ball.
  • Freeze for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until firm enough to hold its shape. Place the peanut butter and chocolate chips in a shallow dish. Remove the plastic wrap from ball and roll the ball into pieces to completely cover, pressing morsels into the ball if necessary.
  • Place the ball on a serving dish, cover and freeze for 2 hours or until almost set. (Can be prepared in advance. If frozen thaw overnight at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before serving.) Serve with graham cracker sticks, teddy Graham, or apple slices for dipping or spreading.

Enjoy!
