Recipe + How Salmon Actually Helps You Keep The Weight Off

When on a diet, we tend to try really hard to eat meals that are healthy for us and low in calories. For the most part, that can mean eating the same things over and over and getting really bored and eventually giving in and going for the “good” stuff. I used to avoid salmon in my diet because I knew it had lots of fat, but then I found out that it had lots of good fats!

Salmon is delicious, helps you lose weight and has incredible health benefits. One of the perks of salmon is that it makes you feel full faster which, in turn, makes you eat less... when you eat less, you consume less calories! This means losing weight gets easier. Plus, salmon has a lot of nutrients and omega 3 fatty acids which means it can help lower the risk of cardiovascular disease and dementia. Not to mention it’s delicious!

Lemon Garlic Salmon Recipe

Step #1:
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

Step #2:
Add two tablespoons of lemon juice, a little salt and pepper, a teaspoon and a half of Dijon mustard, two
tablespoons of parsley, some pressed garlic (about 2 cloves) and a little bit of olive oil into a bowl and mix it together.

Step #3:
Take your salmon and cut them into your portions. It’s up to you how big or small you cut them. On each portion add the marinade. Slice some lemons to go on top. (Step 4 below)

Step #4:
Cook them in the oven at 450 degrees for about 12 minutes.

Enjoy this dish with a side of steamed vegetables and roasted red potatoes or brown rice!  You will feel fulfilled both physically and mentally knowing you made a healthy choice.
