The Do's and Don'ts of Popping a Pimple

We all get them, we all hate them and we all want to get rid of them the quickest way possible.  Desperate times may call for desperate measures and sometimes we do more harm than good when we are trying to speed up a pimple's process.  Pimples happen when dead skins cells are left behind and mix with sebum (oily/waxy matter secreted by our sebaceous glands) which creates blockage within our pores.  Treat your pimple with care, even though it may not be open, still consider it a wound.
There are few things to keep in mind when dealing with an obnoxious pimple.

1.  DO wait until your pimple comes to a head before you attempt to pop.
2.  DON'T use your nails when trying to pop a pimple.  This can damage the skin and cause scarring.
3.  If you are going to pop a pimple, DO use a cotton swab on either side of the pimple to expel it's contents and DO so right after a shower when your pores are most open.
4.  DO change or wash your pillowcase often if you have oily or sensitive skin.
5.  DON'T touch your face.  Every time you touch, you transfer the germs, bacteria and oils from your hands.
6.  DO try and sanitize your phone after use.  Oils from your face get left behind and next time you use your phone, you transfer them back to your skin.
7.  DON'T pick at your pimple.  If needs time to heal and picking at it may cause an infection or scarring.
